So I tried to get a head start today on some math problems, but then I did a few samples, and got sick of it. Funny how doing things you hate encourages you much more to do things you like instead. Because I felt compelled to go research on learning 閩南話(the Minnan dialect), because I kept getting 伍佰(aka 伍俊霖)’s song “少年吔,安啦!” stuck in my head…
which is also the same name to this movie…
And this is when my interest in 閩南話(the Minnan dialect) peaked again, which lead me to the following…

and
http://www.taioanji.com/symbol4.htm –but this guy’s alphabet system doesn’t look like it’ll take off anytime soon. To be honest, I like the way the Koreans organize their alphabet. Much more simple, and it works.
So then, after all of this time was wasted basically not learning any Taiwanese, or even getting any math problems done, I watched a bunch of comedy skits on hulu.com. Then it was almost 6:00pm, and the local representative for our area was going to be here. So I got my buddy, and we drove over there. We were lucky enough to find a lady who said she had two hours on her parking meter, and was about to leave. Well, there was only 1 hour and 12 minutes left when we took her spot over, but that was still cool. We added 2 more quarters, and was ready to see what the mob was going to shout about. And of course, John had to mock them out in the open, as if no one ever heard us. Honestly, I just kept looking left and right, to make sure we at least had a slight possibility of running out of there alive if necessary. Then after a some shouts and chants were thrown left and right, some guy finally said that there was no more room inside, and that we all had to leave, and go to the other session in the next town over. Fuck that place!
So I figured, we should watch おくりびと(“Departures”)
But the projectors were broken –guess it was that popular. So we walked over the local smoke shop, and got some cigarettes, followed by going to buy random snacks. Then, we went back to our apartment complex, and smoke the whole damn pack. This is when I had the urge for coffee, so we drove back to the same area, and got some. Once I had my coffee fixture, we headed back, and took the nice scenic route. Then my dumb-ass came to a hault at a red light, but for some reason, kept concentrating on the next light over, and of course got pulled over by the cop right behind me. Great. Now I have to appear in court. Oh well, could be worse, right? At least now I can get out of jury duty.
So the day started out like it was a boring waste –it still was a waste in the end– but it ended in a somewhat “exciting” manner, I guess you can say. Once again:
塞翁之馬 焉知非福?
